What works, what to weigh

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • A location made for sightseeing — Guest reviews consistently mention a short walk from Termini, a metro stop close by, and an easy walk to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Several also note that the immediate neighbourhood feels calmer and less tourist-heavy than other central areas.
  • Rooftop breakfast worth planning around — Breakfast on the rooftop terrace comes up in review after review. Guests praise the coffee, breads, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, pâté, cereal, yoghurt, and occasional cooked items like eggs and bacon, as well as the view.
  • Friendly and attentive staff — Multiple reviewers describe the team as affable, helpful and happy to go further than expected — one mentions extra care when a guest was unwell, and another notes housekeeping still came daily when the room was occupied until 1.30pm.
  • Clean, comfortable rooms — The rooms get regular mentions for being immaculately clean, comfortable and of a good standard, including the bathrooms. Soundproofing and air conditioning are listed among the hotel's amenities.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Street-facing rooms may be noisy — A first-floor room facing the street was described as very noisy, with the reviewer recommending a room away from the street if noise is an issue. Soundproofed rooms are listed, but the experience seems to depend on position.
  • Simple rather than luxurious — Guests describe the hotel as 'nothing fancy' and a 'simple, no-frills' base, and the lowest rating category is Price and service at 7. One reviewer found the price slightly high, though acceptable by Rome standards.
  • No pets allowed — The policy is no pets on site, so guests travelling with animals will need to find alternative accommodation.

“An immaculately clean hotel with a warm, welcoming team. The location is excellent for exploring on foot, and the breakfast was exceptional, with lovely inner courtyard views.”

“A pleasant hotel that doesn't try to be fancy, roughly what we expected. The price felt a little high at first, but it was fair for Rome. Breakfast was good, and we enjoyed it on the small rooftop terrace. Our first-floor room faced the street and was very noisy, though we managed to sleep; ask for a room away from the street if noise bothers you. We walked everywhere and appreciated the location. The staff were very friendly, and I'd recommend this hotel.”

“A perfectly cosy small hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and gave extra attention when one of us was unwell. The room and bathroom were a good standard, and housekeeping came every day even when we stayed in until 1.30pm. Breakfast was fine, served on the sixth floor with a lovely view. We'd recommend this hotel, with special thanks to the staff.”

“We stayed for three nights in August and loved it. Service was great, and breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a real pleasure: excellent coffee, plus breads, croissants, ham, salami, cheese, pâté, cereals and yoghurt. The hotel is very central and close to the hop-on hop-off bus stop, which made getting around Rome easy. We would stay again.”

“Close to the main station and metro, with a reasonable walk to the Colosseum and Forum. We didn't find the area near the station as seedy as some reviews suggested. Just down the street is an active Catholic church run by Redemptorist priests, with the original icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.”

“Great location, close to all the sights, and we loved the breakfast on the garden rooftop.”
